Dance Revelation Studio Dance Intensive 2012 (DRSDI 2012)

The DRS Dance Intensive 2012 is rigorous, encompassing Classical Ballet, Modern
Dance, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop and Improvisation. The demanding two-week workshop

is led by the faculty of DRS teachers and choreographers, all who come from diverse
backgrounds and have years of experience. The curriculum is both strenuous and
rewarding, challenging dancers to refine technique and increase stamina. It culminates
in an “in-house” dance production featuring students, and faculty. Dancers are involved
in many aspects of the production, including choreography.

Although the importance of strong ballet technique is stressed, the program also
emphasizes diversity in dance training. Many students wish to explore other dance
genres and engage in the creative process of choreography. DRSDI encourages such
artistic diversity, knowing there are many non-traditional dance opportunities (Modern,
Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, and Improvisation) available to both pre-professional and amateur
young dancers. For students who do not pursue careers as professional dancers, a
diversity of dance genres will allow them to dance for a lifetime, far into their adult years.

DRSDI accepts dancers between the ages of 8 and 18, having at least 3 years of
experience in dance.
