Entry Level 1 (3-7):
Level 1 Ballet/Tap (3-7) classes are grouped by age, 3-4 and 5-7. These classes are tailored based on individual ability and experience. Students must be a certain age by October 1st to move to a higher age group. These classes follow a “Leap N Learn” curriculum with a focus on gross motor skills and child development/behavior. We teach manners for dancers, rhythms, patterns, body awareness, stage presence, and confidence. Ballet will teach basic positions and warm-ups as well as movement across the floor. Tap will teach coordinating hand and feet movements while learning basic tap steps. Hip hop is available for students ages 4 and older as an elective, accompanying their ballet/tap class.
Elective/Open Classes: Level 1 (7-11) Ballet/Tap/Jazz & Level 1 (8-11) HH:
Level 1 Ballet/Tap/Jazz (7-11) & Level 1 HH (8-11) are elective/open classes available for those who wish to excel in their Ballet/Tap/Jazz/HH technique. The Level 1 (7-11) Ballet/Tap/Jazz & Level 1 (8-11) HH do not learn a piece to perform in the Annual Performance. These classes are used for growing and strengthen student's technique only.
The Level 1 B/T/J (7-11) class is an additional "elective" class for the 7 year olds who already attend Level 1 (5-7) Ballet/Tap. The 5-7 year olds will perform with the 5-7 year old class for ballet/tap and if enrolled they will also perform with the 4-7 HH class in the Annual Performance come spring time. These students do not have to take HH in order to take the Level 1 (7-11) B/T/J class.
At the same time, for students 8 and older (not enrolled into The Ballet Conservatory Of Dance Revelation) may take these classes as their “Open Classes”. The students taking these classes as “Open Classes” do not perform in the Annual Performance. They are able to take these classes as a way to be involved in the art of dance while also allowing them be involved in other demanding activities. These students must be enrolled into Level 1 Ballet/Tap (7-11) in order to enroll into Level 1 HH (8-11).
Entry level and teen/adult students may only miss 4 classes from September to December (Semester 1) and another 4 classes from January-June (Semester 2). Time missed may be made up and exist in the form of other regularly scheduled classes that a student may attend. The class may or may not be in his or her skill level. Please note that attending a comparable class, to make up time missed, does not erase an absence. If your child is going to be absent, please email email@example.com
